SQAS certification

Did you know?

That SKANOL distributes about 11,000 tons of hazardous goods in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden every day?

In order to protect the environment, employees in the chemical industry in Europe have drawn up a set of specific guidelines for the type of control that transport, storage, and handling of chemical substances shall be subjected to.

SQAS is particularly designed for companies that produce, transport, and convey chemical products. The system is a logical method to identify and control risks in connection with the safety related to the handling of chemicals.

CEFIC – the European Chemical Industry Council – has established this control system in order to increase the safety during transport, storage, and handling of chemicals.

SQAS is a tool with which an assessor, by means of 440 questions, assesses the quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems of providers of transport services.

SQAS is often used together with the quality standard ISO 9001:2015 and the environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015 and would be a naturally integrated system of it. Skanol is certified according to all these standards.
